The Palomar Orchid Society, incorporated in December of 1965 and now based in Carlsbad, CA, was formed when a few people banded together to talk about orchids. We then grew and bloomed into the roughly 200-member group of orchid enthusiasts that we have today. We represent everything orchid in North San Diego County! Come and join us!! The primary mission of the society is to promote public interest and education in the culture, knowledge, and conservation of orchids. Our members all have diverse orchid interests from hybrids to species, and everything in between. See very bottom of page for Meeting Information Board. We're getting better!!! The site is moving along! New things will be constantly added, so look around and give feedback.
A Big Apology to All who found no website updates in the last month. The website committee was so busy with the SD County Show DIsplay and also the sales and promotion at the "Orchids at the Flower Fields" event in Carlsbad. Thanks for your patience.

Look for POS on June 21, 2008 at the San Diego County Fair! June 21 is "Palomar Orchid Society Day" at the Fair! Members! Remember to set aside and bring your blooming plants to show the public in our area. We will remind again at the meeting in June. If you can make it out to the Fair, please come to support POS!
Thanks to Fred Clarke for a very well-received talk on ]Bulbophyllums (that's Bulb-O-Fill-Ums)!! Great plant table too!!
Congratulations to our Special Award Recipients!   Jerry and Anita Spencer Loren and Nancy Batchman (Nancy not present) Special awards were given at the last meeting for generous contributions to the society over the years! The society really appreciates all the help they give, and their presence enlightens us all! Gil Ho, pres (eyes closed on left panel) and John Kidwell, 1st VP (yellow hat), presented the awards. Thanks and Congrats!
